Nose pressed against the patisserie window, my passion for the art of pastry was sparked at a young age. It took another 30 years for me to realise my dream and start my own, award-winning, cupcake business, Bakes By Sam.

My professional life started in Public Relations, and my career in the industry spanned over 12 years. However, unable to ignore a nagging feeling, I took the plunge and decided it was time to head back to college and retrain in Patisserie and Confectionary. It was during this time that I started 'Bakes By Sam and was awarded Silver in the coveted International Salon Culinaire Competition. It's from there my passion for floral cupcakes really blossomed (sorry!).

Often indulging in 'Kitchen Karaoke' all of my best work is created to the soundtrack of Dolly Parton's Great Hits, a strong power ballard or any number from Chicago.
